Mayor Nesby has led the fight to ensure that Duquesne has safe clean drinking water. She has worked with community leaders, environmental activists, and county and state officials to improve the quality of the city’s water and to ensure that the infrastructure stays up to code.
When residents were recently faced with shutoffs due to increases in water rates, Mayor Nesby led the efforts to institute a moratorium on the shutoffs. She worked with agencies throughout Allegheny County, like the United Way, to help provide utility assistance to City residents.
